STREAM: The Stanford Data Stream Management System

چکیده
Traditional database management systems are best equipped to run onetime queries over finite stored data sets. However, many modern applications such as network monitoring, financial analysis, manufacturing, and sensor networks require long-running, or continuous, queries over continuous unbounded streams of data. In the STREAM project at Stanford, we are investigating data management and query processing for this class of applications. As part of the project we are building a general-purpose prototype Data Stream Management System (DSMS), also called STREAM, that supports a large class of declarative continuous queries over continuous streams and traditional stored data sets. The STREAM prototype targets environments where streams may be rapid, stream characteristics and query loads may vary over time, and system resources may be limited. Building a general-purpose DSMS poses many interesting challenges:

Query Processing, Approximation, and Resource Management in a Data Stream Management System
This paper describes our ongoing work developing the Stanford Stream Data Manager (STREAM), a system for executing continuous queries over multiple continuous data streams. The STREAM system supports a declarative query language, and it copes with high data rates and query workloads by providing approximate answers when resources are limited. This paper describes specific contributions made so ...
متن کاملCS848 Presentation Report STREAM System
STREAM is the Data Stream Management System (DSMS) developed at Stanford University. It supports a large class of declarative continuous queries over continuous data streams as well as relational databases. This report is a introduction to STREAM. It is based on the publications on STREAM [1, 2, 3, 4, 5], and focuses on semantics and implementation of continuous query, and techniques used in ST...
متن کاملStream Flow Prediction in Flood Plain by Using Artificial Neural Network (Case Study: Sepidroud Watershed)
In order to determine hydrological behavior and water management of Sepidroud River (North of Iran-Guilan) the present study has focused on stream flow prediction by using artificial neural network. Ten years observed inflow data (2000-2009) of Sepidroud River were selected; then these data have been forecasted by using neural network. Finally, predicted results are compared to the observed dat...
متن کاملA General Algebra and Implementation for Monitoring Event Streams
Recently there has been considerable research on Data Stream Management Systems (DSMS) to support analysis of data that arrives rapidly in high-speed streams. Most of these systems have very expressive query languages in order to address a wide range of applications. In this paper, we take a different approach. Instead of starting with a very powerful data stream query language, we begin with a...
متن کاملInfluence of Stream channel morphology and in-stream habitats on fish community in Golestan province Streams
Four streams with different sizes were selected for studying the effects of environmental factors on fish assemblages using indirect (Detrended Correspondence Analysis, DCA) and direct (Redundancy Analysis, RDA) gradient analysis in Golestan province. DCA of presence-absence and relative abundance data showed well gradient and linear model of species variability. In the within-site RDA, environ...
